What is Sankofa Chronicles?
Sankofa Chronicles is an educational initiative that blends film, storytelling, and guided discussion to help students explore identity, resilience, and leadership. Rooted in the African philosophy of Sankofa—learning from the past to shape the future—the program brings social-emotional learning to life in culturally relevant ways. Funded through the U.S. Department of Education’s Education Innovation and Research (EIR) grant, the initiative is supported by rigorous research and evaluation to measure its impact on student engagement, social-emotional development, and academic outcomes.
